First the Daylight, Then the Flood
On September 26 the Sun opposes Neptune before dawn, and fifteen hours later the Pisces Full Moon arrives sitting directly on top of Neptune.
Most Full Moons are one event. This one is two, and the order they arrive in is the whole story.
At 01:21 UTC on September 26, the Sun opposes Neptune. Fifteen hours later, at 16:49, the Moon reaches full in Pisces, less than a degree from Neptune itself. So the day opens with the contact that strips illusions and closes with the contact that produces them, and anyone paying attention gets both inside a single rotation of the planet.
I find that sequence unusually kind, for reasons I will get to.
The daylight comes first
Sun opposite Neptune is the disenchantment aspect. The territory is fog lifting, veils coming off, and occasionally fraud getting seen for what it is. Whatever you have been half-believing about a situation stands in full light for a day, and the parts that were doing more hoping than knowing tend to show.
That sounds harsh. In practice it is closer to the moment you reread something you wrote at two in the morning. Nothing has changed except the light, and the light is enough.
The useful framing: what survives the daylight is real. Not everything dissolves under a Sun-Neptune opposition. The things that go are the things that were mostly projection, and losing those is a gain that feels like a loss for about a week.
Then the Moon lands on Neptune
The Full Moon perfects at 13.96 degrees of Pisces, with Neptune six-tenths of a degree away. That is close enough to call it a conjunction in anyone’s book.
A Full Moon is already the most exposed point in the lunar cycle: whatever the last new moon planted is now fully lit and fully visible. Put that in Pisces and put Neptune on top of it, and the exposure is of the dream itself. Devotional practice, creative work, the thing you do that has no business case, whatever you have been building quietly in the dark. It reaches its luminous peak here. The ocean fills.
The caution attached to this configuration is specific, and it is the reason the morning’s opposition matters. A porous peak can dissolve into formless overwhelm, and when it does, the substance the whole cycle was building goes with it. Everything feels meaningful, which is another way of saying nothing gets distinguished from anything else.
Having the daylight arrive first is the sky’s own correction. You get the reality check before you get the flood.
Two more planets holding the edges
This lunation is not floating unsupported, which is the part that makes me think it is more workable than a Neptune Full Moon usually is.
Pluto sits half a degree from a sextile to the Moon and a trine to the Sun. Its contribution is competence: deep change arriving as skill instead of crisis. Whatever gets seen this week can be worked on with actual tools.
Uranus is two degrees off the same pattern, sextile the Moon and trine the Sun, and two days later it perfects a trine with the Sun exactly. That one is innovation finding its channel, the future turning up gently for once.
So the configuration is Neptune on the Moon, opposed by the Sun, with Pluto and Uranus both making easy contacts inside two degrees. A dissolving lunation with structure and a door in it. That combination does not come around often.
Why the degrees do not match
Here is something visible in this chart that a twelve-sign chart will never show you.
The Sun is at 9.73 degrees of Virgo. The Moon is at 13.96 degrees of Pisces. They are exactly opposite each other in the sky, because that is what a Full Moon is, and yet the two degree numbers are more than four degrees apart.
In a system that gives every sign an identical thirty-degree slice, those numbers always match. Three degrees of Virgo, three degrees of Pisces, every time, forever. The tidiness is a property of the arithmetic.
In true sky sidereal (the system Z13 is built on) the signs are the real constellations at their real widths. Virgo runs nearly fifty degrees, Pisces about forty-two, and they do not begin at mirror-image points around the circle. Two positions can be perfectly opposite in the actual sky and still carry different sign-relative degrees. Nothing is wrong with the chart. The sky was never symmetrical; the old bookkeeping rounded until it looked that way.
The shadow, named plainly
Two things to watch, and they pull in opposite directions.
The first is the dissolution. Pisces Full Moons are famous for the evening where everything feels significant, every song lands, every old feeling comes back with the volume up. That state is pleasant, and it evaporates by morning without leaving anything behind. Coming down from it on the 27th with nothing to show is the ordinary disappointment of this lunation.
The second is the disenchantment landing harder than it needs to. Sun-Neptune exposes, and a mind looking for something to be disillusioned about on September 26 will find one. Being cynical is not the same as being clear, though it does an excellent impression for a day or two.
The honest position sits between them: something you believed is going to look thinner in this light, and something you have been quietly building is going to look better than you thought. Both are real.

- September 26, 01:21 UTC: Sun opposition Neptune. A good morning for rereading a plan, a pitch, or a promise. A poor one for signing anything you have not read twice.
- September 26, 16:49 UTC: Full Moon in Pisces, conjunct Neptune. If you keep a creative or devotional practice, this is its high-water mark for the cycle. Give it an actual hour rather than a mood.
- September 26, 05:23 UTC: Sun trine Pluto perfects, half a degree off the lunation. The competence contact. Whatever surfaces in the morning can be worked on the same afternoon.
- September 28: Sun trine Uranus perfects. The gentler opening for a change you have been putting off.
- Write something down on the 26th. This is the practical antidote to the dissolution. A full ocean leaves nothing behind unless you take notes.
